Entering into our twentieth year, the Becky Briggs Memorial Golf Tournament, held each October, is proudly sponsored by the Western Henrico Rotary.

The Becky Briggs Memorial Scholarship Fund, which receives proceeds from the tournament, was started 20 years ago through the efforts of the Western Henrico Rotary & Cordell Briggs in loving memory of his daughter, Rebecca. Becky was a 17 year old rising senior at Marymont when her life was tragically cut short in a 1990 auto accident.

In 1991, Western Henrico Rotary and Cordell, a member of Rotary, joined hands with The Community Foundation Serving Richmond and Central Virginia to form the scholarship fund in Becky’s memory.

The Foundation grants scholarships for college and continued learning to high school students of the Richmond area, making the educational opportunities for our area children a reality. And Becky’s love for all continues on.
